Tämä virtuaalikätkö esittelee Kouvolan ja Savitaipaleen rajalla, aivan Tuohikotti-Savitaipale-maantien vieressä sijaitsevan Kaurioharjun. Maantieltä pohjoiseen lähtee harjun päällä kulkeva, vajaan kilometrin mittainen ajopolku. Polku päättyy hieman turkoosinsävyisenä siintävän Kauriolammen ja Pieni-Löytösen väliselle kannakselle. Tämä harjun eteläosa on sammalpeitteistä vanhaa metsää, jossa valtalajeina ovat kuusi ja mänty. Kannakselta pohjoiseen jatkuu pienempi polku pitkin harjun selkää vielä reilun kilometrin verran. Pohjoisosasta ei enää ikimetsää löydy, vaan se on harvakasvuista hongikkoa, jonka lomasta avautuvat hyvät näköalat harjua reunustaville lammille.

This virtual cache presents Kaurioharju, located on the border of Kouvola and Savitaipale, right next to the Tuohikotti-Savitaipale road. From the road to the north, there is a trail that runs on top of the ridge and is just under a kilometer long. The trail ends at the isthmus between Kauriolampi and Pieni-Löytönen. This southern part of the ridge is a moss-covered old-growth forest with spruce and pine as the dominant species. From the isthmus to the north, a smaller path continues along the top of the ridge for another kilometer or more. In the northern part, you can no longer find old-growth forest, but it is a sparsely-grown forest, from which you can enjoy good views of the ponds bordering the ridge.
MISSION:
To find this virtual cache, you must walk at the given coordinates, on the isthmus at the northern end of the old-growth forest. There, you should take a photo of the red-painted table and benches on the spot, and attach the photo to your log (or send it to cache owner by other means). The picture must show something that belongs to you. You can also pose in the picture yourself if you want, but to complete the task, it is enough that in addition to the red table, something belonging to you can be seen in the picture.
