The Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex in Yerevan is dedicated to the memory of the 1.5 million Armenians who died during the various genocides of the 20th century.
Completed in 1967, the Genocide Monument has since become an integral part of Yerevan's architecture and a place of pilgrimage.
The memorial reflects the spirit of the nation that survived a brutal campaign of extermination.
Every year on 24 April, the Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day, thousands of Armenians gather at the memorial to commemorate the victims of the genocide.
