Let There Be Peace! (Mather Arch Heritage Gateway)
DEDICATED TO THE PERPETUAL FRIENDSHIP OF THE NATIONS ON EITHER SIDE OF THE NIAGARA RIVER.
Welcome to the beautiful Mather Arch, built by the Niagara Parks Commission in 1939. This Monument stands on a portion of the 75 acres of river front land donated to the people of Canada by Alonzo C. Mather, the architect of the nearby International Peace Bridge.
The Fort Erie Cenotaph stands in the center of the Mather Arch Park in remembrance of its soldiers lost in World War I, World War II, and the Korean War.
