Central in location, as well as in the hearts of locals, Ego Alley is a narrow channel leading from Spa Creek into Annapolis proper. The waterway stretches some 150 meters from Susan Campbell Park to the Market House. On a typical fair weather day boats, from humble to humongous, parade down to the terminus and come about. Boat watching with ice cream is popular, and restaurants, bars and shops abound.
From this location, you can just spot the Bay Bridge, see the spires of St Mary’s and St Anne’s, and discover the domes of the Statehouse and Naval Academy Chapel. Looking across Spa Creek, the Maritime Republic of Eastport is clearly visible. Old Annapolis can easily be explored by foot, and walking about is a wonderful way to discover America’s Sailing Capital.
