Geocache Description:

Welcome to Northerly Island Park. You may find a decent number of geocaches around the beautifully scenic trail. Now a scenic park, Northerly Island used to be the location of Chicago's Meigs Field. When you visit here, you will still see the Meigs control tower. March 30-31, 2003, Mayor Daley closed the airport in a very creative way. Daley Closes Meigs. Most long time Chicagoians have always thought this an interesting story.

While you're here, I want you to find the spherical creative piece of artwork (the DARKER one as there are two) located at GZ. At the base of the object, there is a plaque. To prove your visit, please send me a message with the following:

1. What is the title of the artwork

2. Who sponsored the artwork

The object IS outside the building so would be available at all times. If you would please include a picture of the object (without the plaque) and either yourself, your GPS/phone, a thumbs up, or something that represents your visit.  I have included parking coordinates for the park itself. GZ is a short walk from parking.
