Die Bavaria gilt als die weibliche Symbolgestalt und weltliche Patronin Bayerns. Das weiß eh ein jeder. Und wenn nicht, kann man das detailliert in Wikipedia nachlesen. Dennoch: Dies ist gewiss die bekannteste und monumentalste Darstellung der Bavaria. Die Bronzestatue wurde von König Ludwig I. in Auftrag gegeben und in den Jahren 1843 bis 1850 errichtet. Sie besteht aus gegossener Bronze und ist eine technische Meisterleistung.
Was so manchem aber vielleicht doch nicht bekannt ist: Im Inneren der Statue gibt es eine Wendeltreppe hinauf in den Kopf der Bavaria. Dort kann man aus 4 Sichtluken herausschauen. Ein toller Blick ist es von da oben - aber nur möglich von April bis 15. Oktober von 9:00 - 18:00 (während des Oktoberfestes bis 20 Uhr). Die Eingangtür befindet sich in der rückwärtigen Seite des Sockels.
Logbedingung: Mache ein Foto von Dir, Deinem GPS, einem Schild mit Deinem Geocaching-Namen oder einem anderen persönlichen Gegenstand mit der Statue im Hintergrund und füge das Foto einfach zu deinem Log hinzu. Halte den Gegenstand so, wie die Bavaria ihren Ehrenkranz. Logs ohne "persönliches" Foto werden kommentalos gelöscht.

Nevertheless, this is certainly the best-known and most monumental depiction of Bavaria. The bronze statue was commissioned by King Ludwig I and erected between 1843 and 1850. It is made of cast bronze and is a technical masterpiece.
However, some people may not be aware of this: Inside the statue, there is a spiral staircase leading up to the head of the Bavaria. There you can look out of 4 viewing hatches. It's a great view from up there - but only possible from April to 15 October from 9:00 - 18:00 (during the Oktoberfest until 20:00). The entrance door is at the back of the plinth.
Log condition: Take a photo of yourself, your GPS, a sign with your geocaching name or another personal item with the statue in the background and simply add the photo to your log. Hold the item like the Bavaria holds its wreath of honour. Logs without a ‘personal’ photo will be deleted without comment.
