The arch was an iconic feature that welcomed visitors for decades. The arch bore a grand, classic design, emblematic of early park architecture, with "Gage Park" prominently displayed. This entrance was not just functional but symbolic, marking the gateway to one of Topeka’s most beloved public spaces.
The last car to drive through the arch was in 2011. If you stand on the concrete medalion of a Celtic Knot and look up and talk you will hear amplification of your voice.
