My grandfather used to live a short distance from here, and whenever he would host family gatherings, my cousins and I would venture out to the park and we would somehow always make our way down into the ravine to explore and play. The easiest way to get into the ravine is to park at the suggested parking coordinates, then make your way down "Heartbreak Hill" to Waypoint 1, then then turn left onto the paved walking trail and follow it to Waypoint 2, then turn left and let let the adventure up into the ravine begin!
To log this find, you will need to do the following: As you make your way up the ravineand arrive at the posted coordinates, you will encounter a ledge that is approximately 6-8 feet high. Stand under that ledge and take a photo of yourself holding a sign with your Geocaching handle and the date you visited. You MUST get enough of the ledge in the background to show that you were at the correct spot. Logs with photos that predate the publication date of this Virtual OR that do not include the date, the ledge and your Geocaching handle will be deleted without warning. If you do not wish to be in your photo, your sign with your Geocaching handle and the date you visited will be acceptable.
Valley View Park is open from 5AM to 10PM every day of the year. This FREE park is a great place for kids of all ages to play and is probably the nicest park next to a maximum security prison anywhere in the world.
