Inköpt 2023. Placerad vid Gavleån vid Gävle Konserthus.
Jätten är sex meter hög och 1500 kilo tung och har skänkts av GDJ-fonden.
Bertil Vallien heter konstnären som skapat statyn.
”Gavle, som den heter, är namnet på den jätte som öppnade upp staden mot havet en gång i tiden”, berättar Bertil Vallien.
– GAVLE är en trygg jätte som kommer att stå på udden utanför Gävle Konserthus och speja ut över Gavleån. En jätte från fantasins värld som grundade staden Gävle och fårade marken med sitt spjut. Skåran blev en vattenväg mot inlandet, idag kallat Gavleån, beskriver Bertil Vallien sitt senaste konstverk, tillägnat Gävle.
Hur man loggar:

2. Ta en bild på dig själv med Skulpturen i bakgrunden. Antingen med HELA ansiktet synligt eller med en skriven lapp där ditt geocachingnamn och datumet då du besöker cachen står.
För att verifiera ditt besökt ska du:
1. Skicka mail eller in-app meddelande till CO med svaret på frågan.
Du ska INTE skriva svaret i din logg.
Är ni fler som loggar samtidigt räcker det att en i gruppen skickar svaret men anger då vilka fler som är med.
2. Bifoga bilden på dig själv i din logg.

Giant Gavle.
Sculpture created for the site by Bertil Vallien and blacksmith Lars Larsson.
Purchased in 2023. Placed by the Gavle River at the Gävle Concert Hall.
The giant is six meters tall and weighs 1,500 kilograms and was donated by the GDJ Foundation.
Bertil Vallien is the name of the artist who created the statue.
“Gavle, as it is called, is the name of the giant who opened up the city to the sea once upon a time,” says Bertil Vallien.
– GAVLE is a confident giant who will stand on the cape outside the Gävle Concert Hall and peer out over the Gavle River. A giant from the world of fantasy who founded the city of Gävle and plowed the land with his spear. The gap became a waterway towards the inland, today called Gavleån, Bertil Vallien describes his latest artwork, dedicated to Gävle.
How to log:

If you are a part of a group that is logging at the same time, it is enough for one in the group to send the reply, but then specify which others are there.
2. Attach the picture to your log.
