I'm not going to copy and paste a load of blurb about Frank Sidebottom from Wikipedia. You should already know all about Frank (and Little Frank for that matter), if you don't...which planet have you been living on and you need to watch this.
There are two logging tasks. Please review these carefully before arriving at GZ as this is not an easy jump out of the car and snap a quick selfie virtual. Please note the D part of the D/T rating!
Logging Task 1
On the floor near Frank there is a plaque. Send me the answers to these three questions using the information on the plaque:
- What type of sunset is mentioned?
- What are the two dates in the format XXXX?
- What is the date in the format XX:XX:XX and why is this significant? (Please answer both parts).
Please don't include any of the answers in your log.
Logging Task 2
Take a photograph and attach it to your log. The photo MUST:
- Show you shaking hands with Frank. That is the name of this virtual and the required task. (If you are shy, feel free to obscure your face, crop your face out of the photo or look away).
- Include a sign that clearly shows your full geocaching username and the date of your visit to see Frank.
I'll expand on the photograph requirements to make sure they are clear as you really don't want to get this wrong.
As you will be shaking hands with Frank and may need to hold your sign, you probably need to think this through and plan your photograph before you arrive at GZ. You may need the help of a friend, caching buddy or passerby as you may not be able to take the required photograph as a selfie. Some blue tack or sticky tape may help you.
The whole statue of Frank must be in the photograph. (I won't be deleting logs if one of his feet is missing from your photo, but please keep to the spirit of the task...this is Frank Sidebottom after all!).
A photo of your foot, finger or some other random body part, GPS, teddy bear, iPad, mobile phone, watch, car keys, trackable or other item are not acceptable.
If you have less than two arms and/or hands, and/or suffer from life changing mobility issues, please try your best, however the requirements that the photograph that you are touching Frank and the sign with your geocaching username and the date of your visit still apply.
The date on the sign must match the date of your log.
If you are doing this virtual with one or more caching friends, each of you must include a photograph that must include your individual sign that clearly shows your individual geocaching username and the date of your visit. This can all be on one or more separate photographs.
I wouldn’t ask you to do anything I wouldn’t attempt myself, plus to provide a clear example of the photograph requirements, here are Frank and I.
Frank was dressed up in a polo shirt from a local sports team when I visited recently.
It's not a logging requirement, but additional kudos to you if you bring along a hat or other item of clothing for Frank to wear whilst you complete the logging tasks at GZ. For full kudos, explain any significance of the clothing in your log.
You may have noticed that the Roman Numerals MCXXXVII appear on the plaque. Again, it's not a logging requirement, but for loads and loads of extra kudos, you could explain their significance in your log.
Feel free to log your find after you have sent in your answers. You do not need to wait for a reply from me. If there is a problem I will get in touch.
Any logs received before the answers and or logs with images not satisfying the specific photograph requirements will be deleted.
