Dieses Denkmal wurde von den Fans des FC Bayern München zu Ehren Gerd Müllers nach dessen Tod vor der Allianz-Arena aufgestellt. Die Bronzestatue in 1,5-facher Lebensgröße misst auf ihrem Bayern-Rauten-Sockel insgesamt 4,2 Meter und wiegt rund eine Tonne. Sie zeigt Gerd Müller in seiner einzigartigen Jubelpose.
Gerd Müller, auch bekannt als "Der Bomber der Nation", spielte von 1964 bis 1979 für den FC Bayern München und gilt als der erfolgsreichste Stürmer in der Vereinsgeschichte. Gerd Müller ist der Rekordtorschütze des FC Bayern München mit insgesamt 568 Toren in 611 Pflichtspielen. Er gewann mit dem FC Bayern München mehrere nationale und internationale Titel, darunter vier deutsche Meisterschaften und drei europäische Pokale. Müller wurde 1970 Europas Fußballer des Jahres und gewann insgesamt sieben Mal die Torjägerkanone in der Bundesliga. Jahrzehntelang hielt mit 40 Toren den Rekord für die meisten Tore in einer Bundesligasaison. 1974 gewann Gerd Müller mit der deutschen Nationalmannschaft die FIFA-Weltmeisterschaft. Er erzielte dabei das entscheidende Tor im Finale gegen die Niederlande.
Nach dem Ende seiner aktiven Karriere arbeitete Gerd Müller mehr als zwanzig Jahre als Co-Trainer der FC Bayern Amateure.

For several decades, he held the record for the most goals in a single Bundesliga season (40 goals). In 1974, Gerd Müller won the FIFA World Cup with the German national team. He scored the deciding goal in the final against The Netherlands.
After the end of his active career, Gerd Müller worked as an assistant coach for FC Bayern Munich II for more than twenty years.
