Der "Affenfelsen" von Bensberg
Das Alte Schloss Bensberg ist eine Burganlage im Bergisch Gladbacher Stadtteil Bensberg.
Als dieses in den Jahren 1962–1972 zum Rathaus der damalig noch eigentständigen Stadt Bensberg ausgebaut werden sollte, stand fest, dass die noch bestehenden Teile des Schlosses integriert werden sollten.
Der fünfeckige Bergfried aus dem 12. Jahrhundert und der Engelbertturm mit der dazwischen liegenden Außenmauer gehörte genauso dazu wie, die ehemaligen Burgportale, ein Gewölbekeller sowie ein weiterer kleinerer Turm und die alte Burgmauer.
Der international bekannte Architekt Gottfried Böhm entwarf das heutige Bauwerk mit dem markanten Treppenhausturm in Betonoptik.
Dieser Treppenhausturm bekam im Volksmund sehr schnell den Namen "Aapefelse" (=Affenfelsen"), da er sehr stark an die Affenanlage im Kölner Zoo erinnerte.
Und hier jetzt Euren Aufgaben:
- An den Startkoordinaten findet ihr eine Tafel zur Geschichte der Alten Burg. Das allerletzte Wort auf der Tafel ist der erste Teil der E-Mail-Adresse bei web.de. Sendet nun eine Mail mit Eurem Cachernamen an diese Adresse zum Beweis, dass ihr dort gewesen seid. Ihr erhaltet eine automatische Antwort. Sollte diese nicht kommen, dann schickt mir das Wort bitte über das Messagecenter von GC.
- Macht bitte von den Startkoordinaten aus für den Log ein Bild des Affenfelsens mit:
- Euch, wie ihr euch "zum Affen macht"
- oder einem Bild/Figur eines Affen
- oder Zettel mit Eurem Cachernamen
- oder als Tribut an lavette96 und den Publish-Flashmob irgendetwas mit der Zahl 96

Ich bin Teil der verrückten Idee aus Hannover und bringe am 9.6.2024, wie 1895 andere Cacher auch, um 9:60 Uhr eine Dose raus.
Ok, 10 Uhr Ortszeit ist für alle verständlicher, aber jeder der es mit lavette96 hält, versteht diese Uhrzeit auch so.
Es gibt eine Bookmarkliste mit allen 1896 GC Codes. Ich verspreche das diese Dose mindestens 18 Monate, 9 Tage und 6 Stunden aktiv bleibt, damit viele diese auch finden können.

The "monkey rock" of Bensberg
The Old Bensberg Castle is a castle complex in the Bergisch Gladbach district of Bensberg.
When it was to be converted into the town hall of the then still independent town of Bensberg between 1962 and 1972, it was decided that the remaining parts of the castle should be integrated.
The pentagonal keep from the 12th century and the Engelbert Tower with the outer wall in between were included, as well as the former castle portals, a vaulted cellar, another smaller tower and the old castle wall.
The internationally renowned architect Gottfried Böhm designed the current building with its striking concrete-look staircase tower.
This staircase tower very quickly acquired the popular name "Aapefelse" (= monkey rock), as it was very reminiscent of the monkey enclosure in Cologne Zoo.
And here are your tasks:
- At the starting coordinates you will find a plaque about the history of the Old Castle. The very last word on the board is the first part of the e-mail address at web.de. Now send an e-mail with your cacher name to this address as proof that you have been there. You will receive an automatic reply. When the reply don't come, send me the word via GC Message Center.
- Please take from here a picture of the monkey rock and add it to your log with
- you "making a monkey of yourself"
- or a picture/figure of a monkey
- or a note with your cacher name

I'm part of the crazy idea from Hanover and on 9 June 2024, like 1895 other cachers, I'll be taking out a cache at 9:60 am.
Ok, 10 o'clock local time is more understandable for everyone, but everyone who holds it with lavette96 also understands this time.
There is a bookmark list with all 1896 GC codes. I promise that this can will remain active for at least 18 months, 9 days and 6 hours so that many can find it.
