THIS VIRTUAL IS ONE BIG ADVENTURE WITH TWO STOPS!
IN ORDER TO CLAIM A SMILEY, YOU WILL NEED TO PROVIDE TWO ANSWERS.
Antelope Island has had numerous historical events happen over the years. One of them was the introduction of free range horses and the eventual destruction of those horses. Many people can tell you about the horses that were introduced to the Island for the purpose of breeding rugged army horses for the US Army in Salt Lake City. Some might even tell you about one particular horse that, after being transported off the Island, broke free from its owner to swim back to the Island to roam free with a saddle still on its back. The final event with the wild horses was the extermination of them because they were no longer needed. This cache takes you to the man made corral that was briefly used to trap the wild horses. With two stops on this virtual, you will become familiar with the history of Wild Horses on Antelope Island!
To qualify for the "FOUND IT" on this virtual cache you will need to:
1- Visit the monument in the picnic area of the Fielding Garr Ranch House (Waypoint coordinates) to gather an answer to Question One. Do not skip this step, because a picture proof at the coral will not be sufficient to qualify for the find. This monument used to be at the Davis County Fairgrounds in Farmington, but has now been relocated to Antelope Island SP.
2- Long HIKE, BIKE RIDE or HORSE RIDE to the location of this virtual cache which is also at the remains of the man made corral. You will also need to gather an answer from the sign here. I would love to see your happy smiling hiking face in a picture at this location but a picture of a personal item would also work. The hike/ride is a minimum of 5 miles one way, if you do not go for any of the other caches on the Split Rock Trail.

Question from sign at the Corral at location of this cache. On the sign is this quote; "There were upwards of a thousand horses on the island, the majority of them being almost as wild as deer." Tell me where this quote was published and when. Also Page Number. (bottom of the quote square)
