Welcome to Rocha's Stoke Bruerne Canal Museum virtual cache.
When we were awarded this Virtual, we wanted to bring fellow cachers to somewhere nice, with parking available and to be able to unwind and chill out for a while. After all as a wise man once said "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.".
At the time of publishing this cache, it is the only 4/1.5 virtual in the UK and was hidden on 29-Feb-2024.
So, what is at this location, it's a canal museum which is the first of its kind in the country. A historic Grade II listed corn mill, offering 3 floors of rich waterway heritage and panoramic views plus is a great way to while away some time. Immerse yourselves in the sights, smells and sounds of life on the canals in former times. There are local establishments available for refreshments.
To claim this virtual, you need to send us via Geocaching messages the answer to some questions and include a picture of yourself inside/outside the museum with your Find log, making sure you don't give away any answers.
The questions:
- A = The year the building was built as a warehouse (reduced to a single digit)
- B = Find when Jack moved his collection from the hut, bottom line, 2nd word (number of letters)
- C = number of letters for the word to the right of Birmingham above the canal window
- D = number of tons mentioned on the large rear diamond (digit)
- E = Find the gate years, subtract lower from higher and then reduce to a single digit
- F = number of letters in the surname of the toll collector (single digit)
- G = number of people above Claydon Top lock, under Boat Inn
- H = number of light coloured verticals under the 3 horizontal shiny long bars (reduce to a single digit)
- Answer = ABCDEFGH
