Arendal er fra seilskutetiden kjent som byen med "de tvende fyr". Store og Lille Torungen ble opprettet som tvillingfyr på hver sin holme i innseilingen til byen i 1844. Lille Torungen ble nedlagt i 1914, mens Store Torungen ble opprustet til en moderne fyrstasjon med nytt tårn samme år.
Store Torungen ble først avbemannet 80 år senere i 2004. Det gamle tegltårnet fra 1844 på Lille Torungen er bevart. Det samme gjelder støpejernstårnet fra 1914, og flere av bygningene på Store Torungen.

Alle disse 3 kravene må være del av loggen din for at besøket er godkjent (du trenger ikke sende noe på melding/mail). Det er heller ikke krav om å være på de oppgitte koordinatene, så lenge du har vært på en plass hvor begge fyrene er synlige.

Arendal is known from the days of sailing ships as the city with "twin lighthouses". "Store Torungen" (The large Torungen) and "Lille Torungen" (The small Torungen) were established as twin lighthouses on separate islets in the approach to the city in 1844. Lille Torungen was closed in 1914, while Store Torungen was upgraded to a modern lighthouse station with a new tower in the same year.
Store Torungen was only decommissioned 80 years later in 2004. The old brick tower from 1844 at Lille Torungen has been preserved. The same applies to the cast iron tower from 1914, and several of the buildings on Store Torungen.

Tasks in order to log the cache:
All of these 3 requirements must be part of your log in order for your visit to be approved (you do not have to send anything on message/mail). It is not a requirement to be at the posted coordinates as long as you are at a spot where both of the lighthouses are visible.
1. Upload a picture of yourself (alternatively your nick) with both lighthouses in the background
2. Upload a pickture of both the lighthouses in focus
3. Enter the coordinates where you took the pictures (see waypoints for suggestions of nice places)
