Welcome to Jumping Off Rock at the Five Finger Point Natural Area on Squam Lake. Locals and vacationers know this is a fun destination for jumping into the water.
This is a Virtual Cache, which means that there is no geocache container to find and no logbook to sign. Instead, you must do the following:
Logging Task:
- Go to the posted coordinates and take a photo of yourself or a personal object with Jumping Off Rock. Add this photo to your "Found It" log or send it to me directly via Message Center. Bonus points for a photo of you jumping into the water!

You can arrive at the location either by boat or by hiking the Five Fingers Point trail. I recommend hiking the full 2.7 mile loop around Five Fingers to see the peaceful coves and beaches. Or you can shorten the hike by staying on the east side of the Five Fingers area. If you choose the Trails Map (Premium feature) in the official Geocaching app, you will see the trail map. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.

My family has been visiting Squam Lake annually for more than 20 years. Visiting "Jumping Off Rock" is a must-do destinations for our kids each year. We realize it's officially called Jump Rock or Jumping Rock, but somehow we have renamed it a more active title of "jumping off". If you are lucky, you may hear or see some of the loons that Squam Lake is famous for. Jumping Off Rock faces Rattlesnake Cove, which is a "no wake zone" and great for swimming and wildlife viewing.
