Beautiful Bascule Bridge
This award winning, beautiful bascule bridge can be experienced via pedestrian walkway, bicycle, water, motor vehicle, and also by air! Check out the Bridge Guy for more info on this type of bridge.
- According to Atlas Obscura, it is the only bridge in the US that crosses three state-level jurisdictions (DC, Maryland, and Virginia).
- A trail runs from Alexandria, VA, across the bridge, and ends at National Harbor Blvd in Oxon Hill, MD.
- At National Harbor, there are plenty of shops, restaurants, and harbor entertainment.
- The Alexandria side offers quick access to Jones Point Park and the Mt. Vernon trail.
- AND there are more caches on this bridge, a Multi, EC and an AL.
