Seahouses Gunpowder Hut, also known as The Powder House and Dynamite Hut, is a Grade II listed building constructed in 1886.
Built using sandstone, the hut was constructed to store gunpowder used in blasting exercises during the construction of the Long Pier and the New Harbour.
It can be spotted from parts of the town and harbour, and if you're wondering why it's remote - any damage caused by chance explosions would be limited thanks to its placement.

To access the hut, head to the "trailhead" waypoint I've listed. From here you'll need to take care crossing the rocks to the hut. It's a short distance but some of those rocks can be slippy. I definitely wouldn't recommend this in the dark. It's not a tidal based cache - I walked in at close to high tide and had no real difficulties.
Logging requirements : Please send me the answers to questions 1 & 2 using either the messaging system or email as well as following one of the photo options in 3).
1. At the hut itself, to whom is the gate dedicated?
2. At the second waypoint, you'll find various graffiti carved into the rocks. There are two names separated by a plus sign who were here in 2013. Each (unusual) name has 4 letters. Who were they ?
3. Finally, please attach a photo to your log of you, a part of you or your caching name together with the hut. The 360° nature of the location should encourage some good snaps. Please don't include pics of the answers in your log.
