Pärnu akvaariumi lugu sai alguse 2005. aastal, kui Pärnu Linnavalitsus teatas plaanist rajada Pärnusse Baltimaade suurim ja kõige kaasaegsem akvaarium. Selle eesmärk oli edendada turismi ja pakkuda harivat meelelahutust nii kohalikele elanikele kui ka külastajatele. Projektiga kaasnesid suured ootused ja plaanid. The story of the Pärnu Aquarium began in 2005, when the Pärnu City Government announced the plan to build the largest and most modern aquarium in the Baltic States in Pärnu. Its purpose was to promote tourism and provide educational entertainment for both locals and visitors. The project was accompanied by great expectations and plans.
