Welcome to Turtle Hill, and a California sunset-watching spot
I was guided here by a nearby traditional cache, back in the end of 2020, and it is one of the best places I have found to watch the sunset. We came back to watch the last sunset of 2020, and I have been back many times since, both during the day and during dusk.
Every time I am here, I take the same photo, and it always comes out different. In order to log this virtual cache, please help contribute to the collection!
Parking is available on Skyline Boulevard from 30min before sunrise, until 30min after sunset.
To log this cache, please:
1. Take a similar photo and upload it with your log.
- The photo should be taken from the coordinates, looking west. The spot is slightly downhill from the main path, before the group of rocks.
- Please take the photo in portrait mode (standing photo) and put the horizon about equidistant from the top and the bottom.
- The group of rocks should be in the lower right corner, and the continuation of the Hickory Oaks trail centered.
I have included a refrence photo above.
2. Please also include a photo of yourself, or an item with your username, on or close to the bench at the coordinates, in such a way that it is clear that you have visited the site.
