かつて東京の顔だった築地の魚市場は、朝早くから訪れる価値のある場所です。
1935年から2018年後半までの間、築地卸売市場は世界で最も有名な魚市場でした。周辺の通りには大きな野菜市場のほか、乾物屋からパン屋まで何でもあり、まさに「東京の台所」という呼び名にふさわしいエリアでした。場内市場は近隣の豊洲に移転しましたが、場外市場はこれまでどおり営業しています。東京湾に面し、銀座から徒歩圏内。迷路のような路地は今も変わらず魅力的です。周辺の飲食店で新鮮な寿司を朝食に楽しんだり、海産物や刺身包丁、ハンドメイドの食器類などのお土産を探しましょう。
全盛期の築地市場は、何百種類もの水産物を扱い、大規模な青果市場も併設していました。場内市場は2018年10月に閉鎖され、豊洲に建設された新しい施設へ移転しました。ただし、観光客の場内市場への出入りは常に制限されていました。一番見応えのある場外市場は変わらず開放されており、飲食店や寿司屋の宝庫となっています。

The Past of the World Famous Tsukiji Market
Once the face of Tokyo, the Tsukiji fish market is well worth an early morning visit. From 1935 until late 2018, the Tsukiji Wholesale Market was the most famous fish market in the world. The surrounding streets had everything from dry goods stores to bakeries, in addition to a large vegetable market, and the area truly lived up to its name, "Tokyo's Kitchen. Although the inner market has been relocated to nearby Toyosu, the outer market is still open. Facing Tokyo Bay, it is within walking distance of Ginza. The maze of alleys is still as charming as ever. Enjoy fresh sushi for breakfast at one of the nearby restaurants, or look for souvenirs such as seafood, sashimi knives, and handmade tableware. In its heyday, Tsukiji Market handled hundreds of seafood products and included a large fruit and vegetable market. The on-site market was closed in October 2018 and relocated to a new facility built on Toyosu. However, tourist access to the in-house market was always restricted. The most spectacular outer market is still open as usual and is a treasure trove of restaurants and sushi bars.
