What a fantastic community playground and park space this is. It is large, green, shady and the upgrade (in late 2020, after the Timber Company was turned into housing) has made this into a destination for lots of westie folks!
The playground equipment is fantastic with an ocean theme to go with the huge pirate ship climbing frame.
The centre piece is a wooden octopus for the kids to climb on, a nest swing, lots of blue soft fall, swings, a great picnic shelter, seating and heaps of other cool stuff. Be prepared to stay a while here…the kids absolutely love this park.
The park has lots of shady trees, lush green grass too! There is also a basketball court.
Tasks for the Virtual
1. The co-ordinates will take you to the Pelicans. Your first task is to take your photo with them (or if you are feeling very shy, your caching name). Include this photo with your log.
2. A bit of observation. Send your observations to me by email or message.
(a) How many pelicans are there?
(b) There is an oversized object next to the nearest She-oak tree, what is it?
(c) There is a multi legged animal in the playground, what is it?
I hope you eventually pry the geo-kids (or geo-kids at heart) away from the playground.
