Täby har många natur- och kulturmiljöer, fornlämningar och runstenar med en historia som sträcker sig långt tillbaka i tiden. Täby har varit bebott sedan bronsåldern men den dokumenterade storhetstiden var först under vikingatiden.
Ingen annanstans finns så många runinskrifter som i Täby och Vallentuna. De berättar om forntidens människors levnadsöden. Händelserna utspelades för tusen år sen, i flera fall just på den plats där stenarna står än idag.
Runriket består av totalt 9 platser som alla ligger runt Vallentunasjön.
Porten till Runriket finns vid platsen Jarlabankes bro, vid de angivna koordinaterna. Där finns ett informationscenter med en utomhusutställning, en upplevelsepark och en rekonstruktion av det vikingatida monumentet Jarlabankes bro.
Med Jarlabankes bro som startpunkt kan man ta sig runt sjön på cykel, med bil eller buss.
På alla de nio platserna runt sjön finns informationstavlor och audioguider om platsens historia och mer information kring runor och runstenar. P-platser finns anlagda. På runstenarna berättar forntidens människor sina gripande levnadsöden.
De nio platser som finns att besöka är: Jarlabankes bro, Täby kyrka, Broby bro, Fällbro, Risbyle, Gällsta, Gullbron, Vallentuna kyrka och Arkils tingstad. Information om var de finns belägna kan ses vid Jarlabankes bro.
Din uppgift är att besöka 4 av dessa och ta ett foto av dig själv på var plats och/eller ditt nick på något valbart underlag. De fyra fotona ska visa Jarlabankes bro, Täby kyrka, runstenen vid Risbyle med Täby komunvapen samt Arkils tingstad. Dessa fyra foton ska laddas upp då du loggar online (INTE skickas till CO!).
English: Täby has many natural and cultural environments, ancient remains and runestones with a history that stretches back far into time. Täby has been inhabited since the Bronze Age, but its documented heyday was not until the Viking Age. Nowhere else are there as many runic inscriptions as in Täby and Vallentuna. They tell the story of the lives of ancient people. The events took place a thousand years ago, in many cases precisely at the place where the stones still stand today.
The Runic Kingdom consists of a total of 9 sites, all located around Lake Vallentuna.
The gateway to the Runic Kingdom is at the Jarlabanke Bridge site, at the given coordinates. There is an information center there with an outdoor exhibition, an adventure park and a reconstruction of the Viking Age monument Jarlabanke Bridge. With Jarlabanke Bridge as the starting point, you can get around the lake by bike, car or bus. At all nine sites around the lake there are information boards and audio guides about the history of the site and more information about runes and runestones. Parking spaces are available. The runestones tell the gripping stories of ancient people. The nine places to visit are: Jarlabanke Bridge, Täby Church, Broby Bridge, Fällbro, Risbyle, Gällsta, Gullbron, Vallentuna Church and Arkilds tingstad. Your task is to visit 4 of these and take a photo of yourself at each location and/or your head on any surface of your choice. The four photos should show Jarlabanke Bridge, Täby Church, the runestone at Risbyle (with the Täby municipal coat of arms) and Arkils tingstad.
These four photos should be uploaded when you log online (NOT sent to CO !).
