Wir laden euch zu einem kurzen Spaziergang auf den Schlossberg von Plauen ein.
Das Schloss Plauen, auch „Schloss der Vögte“ genannt, ist eine nur noch in Überresten erhaltene Schlossanlage im Plauener Stadtteil Schlossberg.
Die Höhenburg entstand ab etwa 1250 als Sitz der Vögt von Plauen. Ab 1466 diente sie als kursächsischer Amtssitz, brannte 1548 aus, wurde um 1670 als Nebenresidenz von Sachsen-Zeitz wieder aufgebaut, diente nach 1718 erneut als kursächsischer Amts- und Gerichtssitz und ab 1852 als Gefängnis.
Im April 1945 wurde die großflächige Anlage durch Luftangriffe, zusammen mit weiten Teilen der Altstadt, erheblich zerstört. Erhaltene Zellentrakte dienten nach dem Krieg bis 2007 weiterhin als Justizvollzugsanstalt. Seit 2012 wird das Gelände grundlegend umstrukturiert. Die teilweise erhaltenen und teilweise neu angelegten Gebäude bieten entsprechenden Platz für die duale Hochschule Plauen.

We invite you to take a short walk up the Schlossberg in Plauen.
Plauen Castle, also known as the "Castle of the Bailiffs", is a castle complex in the Schlossberg district of Plauen that has only been preserved in ruins.
The hilltop castle was built from around 1250 as the seat of the bailiffs of Plauen. From 1466, it served as the seat of the Electorate of Saxony, burned down in 1548, was rebuilt around 1670 as a secondary residence of Saxony-Zeitz, served again as the seat of the Electorate of Saxony and court after 1718 and as a prison from 1852.
In April 1945, the extensive complex was significantly destroyed by air raids, along with large parts of the old town. Preserved cell wings continued to serve as a prison after the war again until 2007. The area has been fundamentally restructured since 2012. The partially preserved and partially newly constructed buildings offer appropriate space for the Plauen Cooperative State University.
