HUN: Grassalkovich-Kastély - Királyi Kastély - Gödöllő
Magyarország egyik legnagyobb barokk kastélya, a folyamatosan megújuló Gödöllői Királyi Kastély történelmi és műemléki szempontból is kiemelkedő értéke hazánknak. Olyan közeg, ahol békében megfér egymás mellett a kulturális, turisztikai és protokolláris funkció – mindez családbarát szolgáltatásokkal fűszerezve.
Építtetője, a XVIII. század egyik legtekintélyesebb magyar fôura, Mária Terézia királynő kancelláriaminisztere, Grassalkovich I. Antal új stílust teremtett a magyar kastélyépítészetben. Az Osztrák-Magyar Monarchia idején, Erzsébet királyné kedvelt pihenőhelyeként szolgált a kastély. A II. világháború után szovjet laktanya és szociális otthon működött a falai között, s ez az épület lassú pusztulásához vezetett. A kastély-együttes felújítása az 1990-es évek elején kezdődött, és 1996 óta fogad látogatókat, a világ minden tájáról. Történetének korszakait a kastély múzeumának állandó kiállítása mutatja be (barokk időszak, a királyi család gödöllői tartózkodása, a Gizella-szárny lakosztálya pedig a legutóbbi időkig követi a kastélyhoz fűződő eseményeket). Megújult a barokk színház és a Királydombi pavilon is (mindkettő csak tárlatvezetés keretén belül látogatható).
A közelmúltban új látnivalók sorával gazdagodott a múzeum és programja: megújult a kastélykert, újjáépült az Erzsébet-veranda, látogatható a Horthy-bunker, elkészült a lovarda és a barokk istálló, megnyílt a 3D vetítő, valamint új állandó kiállítást létesítettek – a Királyi és Főúri Lovaskultúra. A kastély széleskörű múzeumpedagógiai kínálata az élményszerű tanulást segíti elő.
A Gödöllői Királyi Kastélyt a történelmi tradíció és korhűen felújított, a legmagasabb protokolláris igényeket is kielégítő reprezentatív terei mellett színes kulturális programkínálata teszi ma Magyarország egyik legvonzóbb, legizgalmasabb intézményévé és turisztikai célpontjává.
A kastély és a kiállítások látogatásához belépődíjat kell fizetni, a kastélypark látogatása nyitva tartási időben ingyenes.

One of the largest baroque palaces in Hungary, the Royal Palace of Gödöllő, which is constantly being renewed, is an outstanding historical and monumental monument of Hungary. It is a place where cultural, touristic and protocolary functions can peacefully coexist - all this with family-friendly services.
Its builder, Antal Grassalkovich I, one of the most prestigious Hungarian lords of the 18th century and Chancellery Minister to Queen Maria Theresa, created a new style in Hungarian palace architecture. During the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the palace was a favourite resting place of Queen Elisabeth. After the Second World War, a Soviet barracks and a social home were housed within its walls, which led to the slow destruction of the building. Restoration of the palace complex began in the early 1990s and since 1996 it has welcomed visitors from all over the world. A permanent exhibition in the palace museum presents the periods of its history (the Baroque period, the royal family's stay in Gödöllő, and the Gizella wing's suite traces the events connected with the palace up to recent times). The Baroque theatre and the Royal Dome Pavilion have also been renovated (both of which are open to the public on a guided tour).
Recently, the museum and its programme have been enriched with new attractions: the palace garden has been renewed, the Elizabeth Porch has been rebuilt, the Horthy Bunker is open to visitors, the riding school and the baroque stables have been completed, the 3D projector has been opened and a new permanent exhibition - Royal and Baronial Equestrian Culture - has been created. The palace offers a wide range of educational facilities to promote experiential learning.
The Royal Palace of Gödöllő is one of the most attractive and exciting institutions and tourist destinations in Hungary today, thanks to its historical tradition and its representative rooms, which have been restored to the highest standards of protocol and modernity.
An entrance fee is charged to visit the palace and its exhibitions, while the palace park is free of charge during opening hours.
