Geocache Description:

The SeaBus is one of Vancouver's iconic transit symbols.

To earn your smiley, you will have to take a ride on the SeaBus (**please note riding the ferry requires a fare)

It's not just a quirky, fun tourist gimmick, it's an essential piece of commuter infrastructure with 9,000 boardings on the average workday (2021). The SeaBus is a passenger ferry that crosses the Burrard Inlet, connecting Downtown Vancouver to Lonsdale Quay in North Vancouver. Each ferry can seat up to 395 passengers at a time, and departs every 15 minutes during the day. It takes a short 12 minutes to cross the Inlet. These squat, catamaran-style ships were originally bright orange.

To log this virtual cache:

  • Take a picture in the ferry at the approximate coordinates, showing either you, a personal item, or something distinct about yourself, and post with your log. Please get creative!

Note some picture samples below. I decided to make up some collages, hoping to inspire.

Virtual Rewards 4.0 - 2024-2025

This Virtual Cache is part of a limited release of Virtuals created between January 17, 2024 and January 17, 2025. Only 4,000 cache owners were given the opportunity to hide a Virtual Cache. Learn more about Virtual Rewards 4.0 on the Geocaching Blog.

**Travelling on the SeaBus includes 2 fare zones, which means a ticket for the SeaBus could be as much as $4.55 (peak rates as of January 2024). Discount / weekend fares vary, could be far more economical.
