κέντρο της πόλης
του Ηρακλείου.
Θεωρείται ένα
από τα ελκυστικότερα
ενετικά μνημεία
του Χάνδακα
(Ονομασία του
Ηρακλείου
κατά τη Βυζαντινή
περίοδο) και
σώζεται σε πολύ
καλή κατάσταση.
Το νερό ερχόταν
από το βουνό
Γιούχτας στις
Αρχάνες με ένα
υδραγωγείο
15 χιλιομέτρων
που έφτανε στο
Ηράκλειο.
Το
μνημείο αποτελεί
σύμβολο της
πόλης του Ηρακλείου.

The
Morosini Fountain or Lions Fountain is
located in Eleftherios Venizelos Square (commonly known as Lion
Square) in the city centre of Heraklion. It has
been built in 1628 and is considered one of the most
attractive Venetian monuments of Chandaka (the name of Heraklion
during the Byzantine period) and is preserved in very good condition.
The water came from Mount Juktas in Archanes via a 15 km long
aqueduct that reached Heraklion.
The
monument is a symbol of the city of Heraklion.

Der
Morosini-Brunnen oder Löwen-Brunnen befindet
sich auf dem Eleftherios-Venizelos-Platz (gemeinhin als Löwenplatz
bekannt) im Stadtzentrum von Heraklion. Er wurde
1628 gebaut und gilt als eines der attraktivsten
venezianischen Denkmäler von Chandaka (der Name von Heraklion
während der byzantinischen Zeit) und ist in sehr gutem Zustand
erhalten. Das Wasser kam vom Berg Juktas in Archanes über ein 15
km langes Aquädukt nach Heraklion.
Das
Denkmal ist ein Wahrzeichen von Heraklion.
