Goodwater Loop

The Goodwater Loop was a welcome discovery when LadyBlackCat and I moved to Georgetown. We have spent innumerable hours hiking and camping on this trail. It is truly one of our most favorite things about living here. The first time I went on a significant hike on this trail I had an idea for a virtural cache if I ever had the opportunity. Well, now I finally do!
The Goodwater Loop is a 26.8 mile hiking trail that circumnavigates Lake Georgetown and a portion of the San Gabriel River. The trail passes through several Army Corp of Engineer parks to include Cedar Breaks, Camp Tejas, Russell Park, Jim Hogg Park, and Overlook Park. In addition, there are several backpacking-only camping areas, including Cedar Hollow, Sawyer Park, and Walnut Springs.
The trail is marked with a series of monuments, starting at Mile 1. Each monument is an iron post with a rectangular face that displays a white mile number. The exceptions to this would be at mile marker #1, this face has a small yellow sticker with the number 1 on it. Mile marker 12 seems to be missing. In an area on the trail that should have the marker you will find a stone monument with a wooden board that says, "MP 10" on it. Disregard this marker and keep hiking.
In order to claim this virtual geocache, the finder must hike the entirety of the trail and include a photo of themselves or a personal item at each mile marker. Mile marker 12 is not required as it is not in a uniform state like all other mile markers of the trail. I will post a few examples below. This geocache will be strictly policed, so please do not log it without including the required 25 photos. These photos can be taken during one long hike or over many visits, but you must include all photos.
