You will never be thirsty in Barcelona.
One of the many great things I love in this wonderful city, is that you can always find free drinking water while walking and geocaching in the streets.
When the population of Barcelona grew to about 25,000 inhabitants in the Middle Ages, drinking fountains have been built to serve the public. Today there are 600 drinking fountains waiting for you all over the city, and about 300 of them are not just useful but also ornamental and decorative. Some are old and historical, some are new, some are beautiful, some even got caches. You can always count on them: Just bring an empty bottle and fill it up – the water is good and safe to drink!
The city council also offers a free app called FONTS BCN to locate them throughout the city. It also provides you with information about the art, history and curiosities behind the more interesting fountains.
The Frog Fountain:
Font de Granota (Frog fountain) is definitely my favorite of them all. It was created by the Catalan artist Josep Company in 1912, alongside another 2 drinking fountains worth visiting: Font del Noi dels Càntirs (Boy with water jars) and Font del Trinxa.
In this cute fountain you see a frog (maybe Singal The Frog's distant cousin?) caught by a child. Instead of a tap, the water comes out from the frog mouth.
By the way, there's more than one frog here - can you spot the other one?
Did you enjoy the free water? Now it's time to nourish your soul with a bit of free culture: Behind the fountain you will find Palau Robert, a Neoclassical cultural center which hosts free exhibitions and events. It's worth to check it out.

Oh, no! A distant relative of the Geocaching mascot, Signal the Frog, has been caught by an evil muggle and turned into a statue. He needs your help to escape!
As a geocacher we all carry our must-have super power tool that we can't leave home without – a pen. Take out your pen (or your personal logging stamp). Hold it as if it standing on the poor frog's head, so it can become Signal's source of power: a GPS antenna.
Take a picture of this (frog+pen on the head), with either your face or your geocaching nickname (written on a paper, a woodcoin or whatever you choose). You can also take 2 picture – one of the frog+pen and one with your face/nickname with the fountain.
Also, find 2 more drinking fountains (remember, there are hundrends of them around you!) anywhere in the city, and post a picture of them with you or your geocaching nickname.
Posts without these pictures, or with fake ones, will be deleted.

A Barcelona no tindreu mai set.
Una de les moltes coses que m'encanta en aquesta meravellosa ciutat és que sempre pots trobar aigua potable gratuïta mentre camines i fes geocaching pels carrers.
Quan la població de Barcelona va créixer a uns 25.000 habitants a l'Edat Mitjana, es van construir uns abeuradors per atendre el públic. Avui dia hi ha 600 fonts que t'esperen per tota la ciutat, i unes 300 d'elles no només són útils sinó també ornamentals i decoratives. Algunes són antigues i històriques, algunes són noves, algunes són boniques, algunes fins i tot tenen un catxé. Sempre pots comptar amb elles: només has de portar una ampolla buida i omplir-la: l'aigua és bona i segura per beure!
L'ajuntament també ofereix una app gratuïta anomenada FONTS BCN per localitzar-les per tota la ciutat. També us ofereix informació sobre l'art, la història i les curiositats darrere de les fonts més interessants.
La font de la granota:
La font de Granota és sens dubte la meva preferida de totes. Va ser creada per l'artista català Josep Company l'any 1912, juntament amb altres 2 fonts que val la pena visitar: la Font del Noi dels Càntirs i la Font del Trinxa.
En aquesta bonica font veus una granota (potser el cosí llunyà de Signal The Frog?) atrapada per un nen. En lloc d'una aixeta, l'aigua surt de la boca de la granota.
Per cert, aquí hi ha més d'una granota; podeu veure l'altra?
Heu gaudit de l'aigua gratuïta? Ara toca nodrir la teva ànima amb una mica de cultura lliure: darrere de la font trobaràs el Palau Robert, un centre cultural neoclàssic que acull exposicions i esdeveniments gratuïts. Val la pena comprovar-ho.

Com a geocacher, tots portem la nostra supereina elèctrica imprescindible que no podem sortir de casa sense: un bolígraf. Treu el teu bolígraf (o el teu segell de registre personal). Agafeu-lo com si estigués sobre el cap de la pobra granota, perquè es converteixi en la font d'energia de Signal: una antena GPS.
Feu-ne una foto (granota+bolígraf al cap), amb la vostra cara o amb el vostre sobrenom de geocaching (escrit en un paper, una moneda de fusta o el que trieu). També podeu fer 2 fotos: una de la granota+bolígraf i una amb la vostra cara/àlies amb la font.
A més, trobeu 2 fonts per beure més (recordeu que n'hi ha centenars al vostre voltant!) a qualsevol lloc de la ciutat i publiqueu-ne una foto amb vosaltres o amb el vostre sobrenom de geocaching.
Les publicacions sense aquestes imatges, o amb altres falses, se suprimiran.
