Geocache Description:


 

The temples of ABU SIMBEL were built by Ramses II in 1.284 BC. 

In 1979 It was declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The complex was moved in 1968 to higher ground to avoid being submerged by lake Naser when the Aswan Dam was built.

The temples are carved into the rock and are considered one of the most beautiful construccions in Egypt and the ancient world.

Abu Simbel consist of two temples, one dedicated to Ramses II and the other to Nefertari.

 

Editer, fake or manipulated photos Will be not accepted.

 

To validate this virtual cache you need to attach 2 photographs, one with each temple, Ramses II one and the  other with Nefertari where you can see your nick name or avatar with the temple on the background. Otherwise the record Will be deleted.
