Garden of the Gods is often a highlight of any trip to the Colorado Springs area. It is a Natural National Landmark and features incredible views and many unique rock formations. The park is free to access and offers a variety of hikes and photogenic opportunities. And one of the great things about the park is you truly can explore these formations up close and personal. This is an opportunity to get up close and personal with one of the well known areas of the park.
There is about a 1 mile round trip walk to the rock formation which is moderately challenging with some elevation gain. While there is a clearly marked trail, there are some natural obstacles along the way and you will have to climb on some rocks (allowed by the park) at GZ in order to meet the logging requirements. Hence the T3 rating.
LOGGING REQUIREMENT: Get a picture of yourself OR a personal item (GPS, backpack, hiking stick, etc.) in the middle of the arch and include it in your log (see my example). As in - you yourself or a member of your family or one of your items will be physically in the middle of the arch. Will take just a little effort but it's not hard. No email requirements for this Virtual. PREVIOUS PHOTOS PRIOR TO PUBLISHING DO NOT COUNT!
If you do not include a picture, or your attached picture is from prior to the publishing date of this Virtual, your log will be deleted.
