This is a virtual cache in Norrköping and Strömmen, at the broad waterfall, in the old industrial area.
Industrilandskapet är tidshistoria, precis som Gamla Stan i Stockholm och ringmuren i Visby. Norrköpings industrilandskap är det som var och är stans centrala delar, även nu fyllda av aktiviteter. Området med dess ståtliga industribyggnader omringar Strömmen, som var grunden för all den verksamhet som kom att pågå här, byggnaderna är från 1850 och framåt. Från Strömparken i öster, förbi kongressareanan, flera museer, ön med den kända byggnaden kallad Strykjärnet, visualiseringscentrum fram t.o.m. universitet och bron över det översta fallet i stan, det är i detta område många tidigare industrier befann sig. T.ex. pappersmaskin nr 1 på pappersbruket (där det numera sker konferenser) och textlindustrin (ylle och bomull, jojo Norrköping kallades för Sveriges Manchester). Det finns bra dokumentation över hur arbetarna hade det. Textileran tog slut 1970, på en av platserna är det numera mest bostäder i de gamla lokalerna men även Norrköpings högsta - och dyraste kan man tro - nybyggda bostadshus. Strömmen är numera inte helt så vild som för länge sedan, men visst är det fortfarande fart här, det kommer du att upptäcka. På platsen där du kommer att gå för att fota denna cache låg Kråkholmens kraftstation (jodå, det pågår kraftproduktion även idag, men inte just här), skelettet runt trumman finns kvar. Men passa på och ta en runda på vardera sidan av Strömmen vet'ja, en dryg km på varje sida. Och då har du ändå inte fått se de fina Åbackarna längre västerut, plussa på ytterligare 2+2 km och ta dessa också! Jag går inte in mer i detalj än så här, vill du utforska kommer du att hitta betydligt mer än det jag har beskrivit. Det finns även bra dokumenterat på nätet.
The industrial area is history, just like Gamla Stan in Stockholm and the ring wall in Visby. Norrköping's industrial landscape is what was and is the city's central parts, even now full of activities. The area with its stately industrial buildings surrounds the stream, which was the basis for all the activities that came to take place here, the buildings are from 1850 onwards. From Strömparken in the east, past the congress area, several museums, the island with the famous building called Strykjärnet, the visualization center up to the university and the bridge over the top waterfall in town, it is in this area that many former industries were located. For example paper machine no. 1 in the paper mill (where conferences are now held) and the textile industry (wool and cotton, yes Norrköping was called Sweden's Manchester). There is good documentation of how the workers fared. The textile era ended in 1970, on one of the sites there are now mostly residences in the old premises, but also Norrköping's tallest - and one might think most expensive - newly built residential building. Nowadays, the stream is not quite as wild as it was a long time ago, but there is certainly still speed here, which you will discover. On the place where you will go to photograph this cache was Kråkholmen's power station (yes, there is still power production going on today, but not right here), the skeleton around the drum is still there. Why don't you take the opportunity and take a walk on both sides of Strömmen, just over a km on each side. And then you still haven't seen the beautiful Åbackarna further west, add another 2+2 km and take these too! I won't go into more detail than this, if you want to explore you will find much more than what I have described. It is also well documented online.
För att ta sig till startkoordinaterna utgår man från den södra sidan av Strömmen. Det går inte att agera från den norra. Man kan se vattenfallet på en sträcka av knappt 100 m, startkoordinaten är lagd så att du får ett bra läge att få med hela fallet. Det finns waypoint:ar för hur man tar sig fram, både från öst och väst runt huset, dock med en trappa på västra.
To get to the starting coordinates, you start from the southern side of the stream. It is not possible to act from the north. You can see the waterfall for a distance of just under 100 m, the start coordinate is set so that you get a good position to get the whole fall. There are waypoints for how to get there, both from the east and west around the house, though with a staircase on the west side.
Förutsättningarna för en godkänd logg är ett foto med vattenfallet taget från startkoordinaterna, gärna med husen synliga i bilden. Du får självklart gärna bifoga fler bilder från andra vinklar, om du vill. Du behöver även någonting som bevisar att du varit på platsen, du väljer om du vill ha ditt "nick" synligt i fotot (på t.ex. ett papper), eller om du själv är med, eller för den delen båda. Enligt riktlinjerna är det frivilligt om du själv är med bilden, och om du vill ha med loggningsdatum på bilden.
The conditions for an approved log are a photo of the waterfall taken from the start coordinates, preferably with the houses visible in the picture. You are of course welcome to attach more pictures from different angles, if you wish. You also need something to prove that you were at the location, you choose whether you want your "nick" visible in the photo (for instance on a piece of paper), or if you yourself are there, or for that matter both. According to the guidelines, it is optional if you yourself are with the picture, and if you want to include the logging date in the picture.
Platsen är inte särskilt lämpad för rullstol. Men jag skulle säga att det är möjligt, i så fall från öster.
The place is not particularly suitable for wheelchairs. But I'd say it's possible, if so from the east.
