This virtual will bring you to the Sulphur Springs in Clifton Springs, NY. These Springs gained notoriety due to the naturally occuring mineral rich water that was believed to have healing properites by the Native Americans and early settlers in the area. This led to the development of the Clifton Springs Water Cure, founded by Dr. Henry Foster in 1850; see nearby historical marker. Foster believed a physician needed to cure the whole person - body, mind, and spirit. People would visit the facility for the sulpher baths, exercise, and holistic treatements, which established Clifton Springs as a renowned health resort. Fun fact: This institution also helped pioneer the field of Occupational Therapy, which is near and dear to my heart.
I name all my caches after songs: Lovely Day is a marvelous song by Bill Withers
To log cache: Make a peace sign and take a photo of yourself or your signature item, in front of the water. Please include some of the water and some of the green fence in your photo. Add your photo to your log. See examples in gallery. Happy Caching!
