Background Information

The West Coast Eagles, an Australian Rules football club based in Perth, Western Australia, were established in 1986 and entered the then Victorian Football League (VFL), now known as the Australian Football League (AFL), in 1987. The club quickly became a powerhouse in the league, reaching the finals for the first time in 1988, making their first grand final in 1991 and winning their first premiership in 1992. This was followed by subsequent championships in 1994, 2006, and 2018. Known for their strong fan base and competitive spirit, the Eagles have consistently been one of the AFL's most successful teams, boasting numerous finals appearances and producing many of the game's great players.

The club's training base, Mineral Resources Park, is located in Lathlain, a suburb of Perth. This state-of-the-art facility, opened in 2019, includes high-performance training amenities, medical and rehabilitation areas, and administrative offices. Mineral Resources Park is not only a training ground for the Eagles but also a community hub, featuring various public facilities such as an oval accessible to local sports teams and the broader community.

The facility offers modern amenities including a café, a merchandise store, and the West Coast Eagles' Hall of Fame, which celebrates the rich history and achievements of the club. It features memorabilia, interactive displays, and exhibits that highlight the careers of legendary players, significant matches, and the evolution of the team. The Hall of Fame serves as a tribute to the club's past and an inspiration for future generations of fans and players.

Mineral Resources Park boasts world-class training facilities designed to support the West Coast Eagles players in reaching peak performance. The complex features an elite gymnasium equipped with cutting-edge strength and conditioning equipment, ensuring players have access to the best resources for physical training. The training base also includes multiple recovery areas, such as hydrotherapy pools, cryotherapy chambers, and dedicated spaces for physiotherapy and medical treatments. These facilities enable comprehensive injury prevention and management, ensuring players can maintain optimal health and fitness throughout the season.

Additionally, the park contains specialized training fields with surfaces replicating those of various AFL venues, allowing players to adapt to different playing conditions. The indoor training spaces provide a controlled environment for skills development and tactical drills, regardless of weather conditions.
