Geocache Description:

To claim this virtual reward please go to the published coordinates (the bandstand) and take a photo that includes a pen/pencil with St. Catherine's Island in the background. Upload it with your "found it" log. Any logs that don't qualify will be deleted.

If you've visited Tenby, you're likely to have noticed St Catherine's Island, a small, tidal island nestled on Castle Beach. The island boasts a prominent fort, completed in 1870, for use as a defence in the Napoleonic Wars. Before then there was a 13th-century chapel. It has also been a palatial home, World War II garrison, zoo, film location, and is currently open during the summer months as a visitor attraction.

Despite the changes in use, the island has largely remained the same over the decades. It's formed from an outcrop of limestone, on average 25m (82ft) high, and is riddled with tidal caves. It's approximately 200m (660ft) long and 60m(200ft) wide.

The bandstand is wheelchair accessible if you take the northern path around Castle hill, via the lifeboat stations. The shorter path, via the Museum, contains some short flights of steps.
