The Highway to the Danger Zone!!
Welcome to the “Top Gun House” This iconic landmark house was featured in the
1986 Movie Top Gun starring Tom Cruise. This is where Mav’s love interest Charlie
lived in the movie. Even though he initially “flamed out” with his & Gooses’ rendition
of “You’ve lost that Lovin’ feeling” he of course eventually won her over.
He even left his Motorcycle here for you to see. It is a replica but a very good one
and features some things you need to log this Virtual (see below)
It is now owned by The Mission Pacific Hotel and features a “High Pie” shop and
contains Top Gun themed décor. The shop does have Hours but for
purposes of this Virtual you do not need to go inside.

This house has a long and interesting history dating back to 1888. As of now it is
one of the oldest surviving examples of Folk Victorian Architecture in the area.
The house was in a bad state of disrepair for some years and was going to be
demolished to make way for new development but was saved due to the efforts of
the Oceanside Historical Society in cooperation with the developers.
The house was moved about 400 feet North from its original location and beautifully restored. The house is still on North Pacific Street.

LOGGING REQUIREMENTS:
(1) Locate Mavericks Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle just to the left of the front porch and send me (by geocaching messenger) the 17 digit vehicle ID number located on the steering stem of Mav’s Ninja. It’s stamped into the frame and there’s a sticker as well.
(2) Take of pic of yourself or signature item with the house and/or motorcycle
and include with your log or send by geocaching messenger.
As with all logging requirements, your log may be deleted if not all are met.
