This Virtual geocache will bring you to a hidden gem in Montgomery County, Maryland. Brookside Gardens encompasses 54 acres, with 32 acres of cultivated gardens. When I’m feeling stressed, I come to here and take in the lovely sights, sounds, and smells. I always feel more relaxed when I leave.
There is no charge to enter or park. There is plenty of parking although it can get crowded on the weekends and holidays. There are two parking lots. One is near the Visitors center and one is near the Greenhouses. The park is open sunrise to sunset with a slight adjustment during the holiday light show.Â
The Visitors Center is open 9-5. There are interesting things to see inside as well as bathrooms. Brookside Gardens is a one mile walk from Glenmont Metro Station. No pets or bikes/scooters allowed. I believe each stage is wheelchair accessible but temporary construction may create a challenge for a single waypoint. In which case, please choose a different waypoint.Â
Brookside Nature Center is nearby and great for kids. It's close to the greenhouse. The Train and Carousel at Wheaton Regional Park are fun too.Â

REQUIREMENTS FOR LOGGING THIS CACHE:
Please visit the Gardens and include picture proof of yourself or a personal item that shows that you are there with one of the four structures. You are not required to show your face but please include something distinctive to show you were there. I offer four choices for waypoints: Japanese Tea House, Fragrance Garden, Wedding Gazebo, and Perennial Garden and Fountain. See waypoints to navigate to one or more of these. I recommend seeing them all but only one is required.
Logs not containing a required picture will be deleted. I have added photos below as well as to the gallery as examples of what landmark should be in your picture. Feel free to add additional pictures to your log in addition to the required photo as you are so moved. The look of this park is always changing depending on the season.
