The Tenney Lock and Dam is a historic landmark in Tenney Park on the East side of Madison, WI. Located on the eastern shore of Lake Mendota, The lock and dam was initially built in 1847 after a mill and brewery on this site were destroyed in a storm.
The lock and dam is the largest of three boat locks on the Yahara River, enabling boats to move from lake to lake. The lock and dam also provides flood control. Improvements have been made to the lock and dam in 1959, 2006 and 2017.
