Depending on who you ask, the Nubble is one of the most photographed lighthouses in the world. My family came from the New England area so the lighthouse has always held a special place in our hearts. Be aware that the gift shop and bathrooms are closed in the winter. Parking is available all year round but not available overnight. It was the first lighthouse to technically go to space when NASA sent Voyager II into orbit in 1977 with a photo of the Nubble. The lighthouse become operational in 1879. It is a still active lighthouse but no one lives on the premises anymore. To claim credit for this very simple virtual, you have to take a photo of your geocaching name scribbled down with the lighthouse in the background. You do not have to show your face if don't want to.
