Geocache Description:

This entertaining Virtual Cache lures you to one of Londons' smaller landmarks, artist Maarten Baas' Real Time clock, colloquially known as the Paddington Clock.

Maarten Baas, born in 1978, is a renowned Dutch artist known for his unique blend of theatre, art, and film. His "Real Time" series consists of 12-hour films that depict performances representing time, displayed within public clocks.

At 50 Eastbourne Terrace, Baas's Real Time clock is mounted 7.8 meters above the pavement. Within, a figure is observed painting and erasing the clock's hands, marking each minute as it passes. The effect is sufficiently subtle to catch your attention and make you pause to observe, yet it is not so distracting as to be disruptive.

How to claim this Virtual Cache?

  • Take a selfie (optional) and/or a photo of a thumbs-up or personal item, clearly showing the man trapped inside the clock, eagerly working in the background.

Note: Whenever you share a selfie in a private message, kindly note it in your log.
