Rainbow Falls is just one of the beautiful wonders of nature at Watkins Glenn State Park. Come and explore this gem of New York and the Glenn's other 18 water falls.
When my bride and I camped at Watkins Glenn for the first time 10 years ago or so and hiked the entire gorge, not a cacher at the time, it was an unforgettable trip and adventure with sights that are still burned in our minds. One spot that we will never forget is Rainbow Falls, so when I was rewarded this Virtual reward, this spot came to mind. Watkins Glenn has 19 water falls, 400 feet of elevation change over 1.5+ miles with 200 foot cliffs. If you haven't been here before or have been here many times, it really is worth it to put it on your to-do list.
Come and enjoy a day of hiking, breathtaking sights and a cache to top it off. I've included links below for a map to main parking, trailhead and access points to the gorge trail along with some very interesting information on how the Glenn was formed and history of the area.
This is a moderate hike. Watkins Glenn gorge trail has mostly stone stairs that are wet and slippery a lot of the time. Please come prepared, also pets aren't allowed on the Gorge trail that this cache is on.
