De Amstel
De Amstel is de rivier die door Amsterdam stroomt en waarvan het water wordt omgeleid naar de beroemde grachten van de stad. De stad werd oorspronkelijk rond de rivier gebouwd, wat leidde tot de naam Amsteldam. Tegenwoordig stroomt deze waterweg vanuit het zuiden van Amsterdam langs zowel historische als moderne gebouwen en woonboten.
The Amstel River
The Amstel River is the river that flows through Amsterdam, with its waters being diverted into the city's famous canals. The city was originally built around the river, which led to the name Amsteldam. Today, this waterway flows from the south of Amsterdam past both historic and modern buildings and houseboats.
Amstel 180
Amstel 180 is niet het prachtige 17e-eeuwse pand aan de Amstel op nummer 180. Amstel 180 is evenmin de dartsclub 'Amstel ONE-HUNDRED-AND-EIGHTY!' die dit jaar zijn 75-jarig jubileum viert. En nee, Amstel 180 is ook niet een nieuw biertje.
Amstel 180 is een Virtual Cache langs de Amstel en op de bruggen bij de Amstel met twee fotografische opdrachten .
Amstel 180
Amstel 180 is not the beautiful 17th-century building at Amstel number 180. Amstel 180 is also not the darts club 'Amstel ONE-HUNDRED-AND-EIGHTY!' celebrating its 75th anniversary this year. And no, Amstel 180 is not a new beer either.
Amstel 180 is a Virtual Cache along the Amstel River and on the bridges over the Amstel River with two photo assignments.

Foto-opdracht 1.
Voor de eerste foto opdracht moet je naar de Oetgensbrug.
De Oetgensbrug is een vaste brug in Amsterdam-Centrum, gelegen aan de westelijke oever van de Amstel en overspant de Prinsengracht. Het is de laatste brug over de Prinsengracht voordat deze uitmondt in de Amstel.
Vanaf deze brug heb je een prachtig uitzicht over de Amstel, de Magere Brug, de Amstelsluis en theater Carré. Je vindt de brug op de coördinaten die bovenaan de pagina staan vermeld.
Maak een foto van de Oetgensbrug met met een persoonlijk voorwerp.
Dat persoonlijk voorwerp mag van alles zijn. Je rugzak, je fiets, een naambordje met je geocache naam, je schoen, jouw eigen hoofd. Mogelijkheden genoeg.
Photo assignment 1.
For the first photo assignment you have to go to the Oetgensbrug. The Oetgensbrug is a fixed bridge in downtown Amsterdam, located on the western bank of the Amstel River and spanning the Prinsengracht. It’s the last bridge over the Prinsengracht before it flows into the Amstel River.
From the bridge you have a beautiful view of the Amstel River, the Skinny Bridge, the Amstelsluis and theater Carré. You’ll find the bridge at the coordinates listed at the top of the page.
Take a photo of the Oetgensbrug including a personal item in the picture.
That personal item can be anything. Your backpack, your bicycle, a nameplate with your geocache name, your shoe, your own head. Plenty of possibilities.
Foto-opdracht 2.
Bepaal de gestapelde woordwaarde van jouw geocachenaam.
Ga naar de brug waarvan het waypoint nummer overeenkomt met de gestapelde woordwaarde van jouw geocachenaam.
Hieronder zie je de lijst waypoints van de bruggen bruggen die in aanmerking komen voor de tweede opdracht. Op alle bruggen heb je een mooi uitzicht over de Amstel en op de gebouwen aan de Amstel.
Maak vanaf de brug een panoramafoto van minstens 180 graden.
Ga dus niet zomaar naar een willekeurige brug maar ga naar de brug waarvan het waypoint nummer overeenkomt met de gestapelde woordwaarde van jouw geocachenaam.

Calculate the digital root of the word value of your geocaching name. (calculation example)
Go to the bridge whose waypoint number corresponds to the digital root of the word value of your geocaching name.
Below is a list of waypoint of bridges that qualify for the second assignment. On all the bridges you have a nice view of the Amstel River and the buildings along the Amstel River.
From the bridge, take a panoramic photo of at least 180 degrees.
So don't just go to any bridge but go to the bridge whose waypoint number corresponds to the digital root of the word value of your geocaching name.

Voorwaarden voor de panorama foto
De panorama foto moet wel aan een aantal voorwaarden voldoen.
De panorama foto moet gemaakt zijn bij of vanaf de brug waarvan het waypoint nummer overeenkomt met de gestapelde woordwaarde van jouw geocachenaam.
Op de panorama foto moet de brug of een deel van de brug zichtbaar zijn.
De panorama foto moet minimaal 180 graden horizontaal beslaan.
De panorama foto moet een equirectangulaire of cilindrische panoramafoto zijn, dus geen fisheye foto of losse foto's.
De panorama foto moet een breedte-hoogteverhouding hebben tussen 2:1 en 10:1.
Kun je niet op de brug komen bijvoorbeeld door werkzaamheden aan de brug. Ga dan zo dicht mogelijk bij de brug staan om de panoramafoto te maken.
Panoramic Photo Requirements
Your panoramic photo must meet the following criteria:

The panorama photo must show the bridge or part of the bridge.
The panorama photo must cover at least 180 degrees horizontally.
The panorama photo must be an equirectangular or cylindrical panorama photo, not a fisheye photo or separate photos.
The panorama photo must have a aspect ratio between 2:1 and 10:1
If you can’t access the bridge due to bridge works then get as close as possible to the bridge to take your panoramic photo.

Natuurlijk kun je voor deze opdracht een 360 graden camera met twee fisheye-lenzen kopen, of een statief met een gemotoriseerde panoramakop voor je full frame digitale camera waarmee je in 64 fotostappen een sferisch panorama kunt maken.
Maar je smartphone volstaat ook. Vrijwel alle smartphones hebben een camera app met panoramafunctie. Met deze functie moet je de camera langzaam van links naar rechts bewegen om een panoramafoto te maken.
Wil je een foto met een hoge resolutie maken? Dan kun je zes foto's maken waarbij je de camera telkens 30 graden draait. Met een speciaal panoramastitchprogramma kun je deze foto's later samenvoegen tot één panorama. Er zijn gratis stitchprogramma's beschikbaar op internet.
Of course, you could buy a 360-degree camera with two fisheye lenses or a tripod with a motorized panoramic head for your full-frame digital camera, allowing you to create a spherical panorama in 64 steps.
However, your smartphone will work just fine. Nearly all smartphones have a panorama mode in their built-in camera. To take a panoramic photo, activate the panorama function and slowly move the camera from left to right.
If you want to create a high-resolution panoramic photo, you can take six photos, rotating the camera horizontally by 30 degrees each time. Later, you can stitch these photos together using a special panorama stitching program. Free stitching software is available online.
Loggen
Om deze Virtual Cache succesvol te kunnen loggen, voeg je de twee opdracht foto's bij je log.
Ook als je jouw foto's nog moet nabewerken verstuur je jouw log pas als de twee foto's klaar zijn.
Voldoet je log niet aan de voorwaarden, dan zijn we helaas genoodzaakt deze te verwijderen.
Verstuur je een log met de officiele geocache app op je smartphone? Met de app kun je maar één foto bij je log meesturen. Als je ook nog een "Schrijf notitie" verstuurt kun je daarmee de tweede foto versturen.
Logging
To successfully log this Virtual Cache, attach the two assignment photos to your log. Even if you still need to post-process your photos, do not send your log until the two photos are ready.
If your log doesn’t meet the requirements, we’ll unfortunately have to delete it.
Do you send a log with the official geocache app on your smartphone? The app only allows you to send one photo with your log. If you also send a “Write Note” you can send the second photo with it.
