ENGLAND'S OLDEST HORSE RACE - THE FINISH LINE
This is to celebrate the fact that Kiplingcotes Derby has achieved the title of the oldest horse race in the country. This virtual cache marks the finish line of the race that for over 500 years has been contested. There used to be a traditional cache here but that kept getting muggled, possily due to the crowds that arrive on the third Thursday of March every year to see the horses complete the race. The year it was started the organiser placed £10 in a bank account and stipulated that as long as the race was "run" every year that the interest would form the first prize and second place prize would be half the entrance fees. As time has gone on the interest on £10 is now significantly less than the entrance fees and so second place is worth more money than first place! During the second world war and COVID a single horse was walked around the course to maintain the continuation of the tradition and so it is now the oldest horse race in the country and possibly Europe.
The straight forward requirements
To get this cache and claim a find you must just tell me the year the race was first run according to the signpost.
As this is a virtual and the answer to the question is freely available online I would appreciate but do not require a photo in your log to show you actually turned up. If you would like to post a picture as evidence of your visit then please only include the "Englands Oldest Horserace" side of the sign. Or edit your photo as my example shows.

Extra points for anyone who does this on horseback - or is making a clip clop sound with two coconuts.
Also even more extra points for the second to find and not first to find!
