D’après Histoire des eaux les plus chaudes de la Terre (G Barthomeuf – 2013). Située dans une région de volcanisme actif, la localité tient son nom de sa particularité : la présence de sources chaudes voire brûlantes… Ce nom est attesté sous la forme latinisée De Calide Aquis en 1130 et sous sa forme occitane ancienne Chadasaygas en 1303. La forme moderne Chaudes-Aigues repose sur une francisation des mots nord-occitans chaldas aigas « eaux chaudes ».
Il y a pas moins de 32 sources d'eau chaude dans le village. Pour vous épargner une trop longue recherche, cette virtuelle vous permet d'en découvrir 7, mais libre à vous de déambuler un peu plus dans les jolies rues de Chaudes-Aigues pour en voir d'avantage.
Pour valider cette virtuelle :
- Votre pseudo doit apparaitre sur le logbook virtuel représenté par le certitude ci dessous - ou le cas échant m'envoyer la réponse du certitude par messagerie geocaching ou par mail via le site géocaching. La réponse à certitude vous permettra surtout d'obtenir une photo exemple de log.
- Vous devez prendre une photo devant la source qui est aux coordonnées de la virtuelle. Votre pseudo de geocacheur doit apparaitre sur celle-ci, sur le support de votre choix, avec la source derrière en fond. Montrer votre visage est facultatif. La photo doit être jointe à votre log ou envoyée via messagerie geocaching.
Attention, les 2 étapes doivent être réalisées. Si ce n'est pas le cas, je vous contacterai et serait en mesure d'effacer votre log.
Pour apparaitre sur certitude, vous devez être connecté avec votre compte geocaching et entrer la solution suivante :
- Marché + Mairie = A
- A / Lavoir = B
- Four - B = C
- Beurre + C = D
- D - Hospice = Solution à entrer sur certitude ou à m'envoyer via messagerie
Rendez vous aux différents waypoints pour obtenir les températures des différentes sources, celles ci vous permettront de trouver la solution de la première étape.

According to History of the hottest waters on Earth (G Barthomeuf – 2013). Located in a region of active volcanism, the locality takes its name from its particularity: the presence of hot or even burning springs... This name is attested in the Latinized form De Calide Aquis in 1130 and in its ancient Occitan form Chadasaygas in 1303. The form Modern Chaudes-Aigues is based on a francization of the North Occitan words chaldas aigas “hot waters”.
There are no less than 32 hot springs in the village. To save you a long search, this virtual allows you to discover 7 of them, but you are free to wander a little further through the pretty streets of Chaudes-Aigues to see more.
To validate this virtual:
- Your nickname must appear on the virtual logbook represented by the certitude below - or if necessary send me the certainty's response by geocaching messaging or by email via the geocaching site. The certitude answer will above all allow you to obtain a photo example of a log.
- You need to take a photo in front of the source which is at the coordinates of the virtual. Your geocacher nickname must appear on it with the source behind in the background, showing your face is optional. The photo must be sent via geocaching email or attached to your log.
