The Vulture Hide was built in 2012 and has become one of the main attractions in the Golden Gate National Park. Here, if you are lucky you will get to see the endangered Bearded and Cape Vultures feeding off carcasses that are provided to supplement their diets. We have had some great sightings at both this hide and other vulture hides in the Drakensberg. The hide is a quick 5 minute walk from the parking area. As a bonus, there is also a tradional cache placed in the vircinity.

On your way to the hide, you also might be lucky to see some of the mammals that have been reintroduced into the park, namely zebra, springbok, blesbok, black wildebeest, red hartebeest and eland, to name but a few of the 60 odd indigenous species recorded in the park.

The hide is about half way along the Oribi loop in the park. Well worth a visit.
