The statue is by artist Lenore Thomas. It's located in Greenbelt Center (now Roosevelt Center) It stands about 10 ft tall and 4 ft wide. It was built in 1939
Lenore Thomas Straus was only in her 20s when she carved several important works in Greenbelt in the late 1930s: “Mother & Child” (c.1939) in Roosevelt Center, the bas reliefs depicting the Preamble to the U. S. Constitution.
