È una delle viste più suggestive ed insolite di tutta Roma quella che si ammira dal buco della serratura del numero 3 di Piazza Cavalieri di Malta.
A qualunque ora del giorno e della notte, romani e turisti si mettono in fila per poter accostare l’occhio al portone di ingresso della Villa Magistrale, sede istituzionale del Sovrano Ordine di Malta. Dal portale monumentale in cima al Colle Aventino si gode infatti di una delle viste più affascinanti della Basilica di San Pietro. Inquadrata da una folta siepe di alloro, la cupola disegnata da Michelangelo Buonarroti dà l’illusione attraverso il buco della serratura di essere più grande e quindi più vicina.
Se avete la fortuna di trovare la porta chiusa, fate una foto dal buco della serratura mettendo a fuoco la cupola.
Verranno comunque accettate le foto dal viale alberato se la porta dovesse essere aperta.

At any time of the day or night, Romans and tourists line up to be able to approach the entrance door of the Villa Magistrale, the institutional headquarters of the Sovereign Order of Malta. From the monumental portal at the top of the Aventino Hill you can in fact enjoy one of the most fascinating views of St. Peter's Basilica. Framed by a thick laurel hedge, the dome designed by Michelangelo Buonarroti gives the illusion through the keyhole of being larger and therefore closer.
If you are lucky enough to find the door closed, take a picture from the keyhole focussing on the dome.
Photos of the tree-lided avenue will still be accepted if the door is opened.
