Katedrala sv. Jakova u Šibeniku jedno je od najznačajnijih i najljepših graditeljskih ostvarenja u Hrvatskoj te je 2000. godine uvrštena na UNESCO-ov popis svjetske kulturne baštine.
Građena je više od stotinu godina, tijekom 15. i 16. stoljeća, a jedinstvena je po tome što je kompletno izgrađena od kamena i to bez korištenja vezivnog materijala.
Najznačajniji graditelji katedrale su Juraj Dalmatinac i Nikola Firentinac.
Tijekom stoljetnog razdoblja gradnje katedrala je nastajala izmjenama triju različitih stilova: gotičkog, gotičko-renesansnog i renesansnog. Ljepotom se posebno ističe impozantna kupola koja je bila pogođena u Domovinskom ratu, a danas je svojevrsni simbol Šibenika.
Katedrala je poznata i po ikonografskim inovacijama među kojima posebno mjesto zauzimaju skulpture 71 glave na vanjskom dijelu svetišta za koje se smatra da su individualni portreti suvremenika Jurja Dalmatinca.
Od 2019. godine katedrala je dobila i svoj Interpretacijski centar u staroj jezgri Šibenika, 150m dalje od same katedrale, koji na jednom mjestu sažima bogatu povijest šibenske biskupije te posjetiteljima priča priču o posebnostima gradnje šibenske prvostolnice kroz likovni postav te interpretacijske elemente.

Cathedral of St. Jakov in Šibenik is one of the most significant and beautiful architectural achievements in Croatia, and in 2000 it was included in the UNESCO list of world cultural heritage.
It was built over a hundred years, during the 15th and 16th centuries, and is unique in that it is completely built of stone and without the use of binding material.
The most important builders of the cathedral are Juraj Dalmatinac and Nikola Florentinac.
During the century-long period of construction, the cathedral was created through changes in three different styles: Gothic, Gothic-Renaissance and Renaissance. The imposing dome that was hit in the Homeland War, and today is a kind of symbol of Šibenik, stands out for its beauty.
The cathedral is also known for its iconographic innovations, among which a special place is occupied by the sculptures of 71 heads on the outer part of the sanctuary, which are considered to be individual portraits of Juraj Dalmatinac's contemporaries.
Since 2019, the cathedral has had its own Interpretation Center in the old center of Šibenik, 150m away from the cathedral itself, which summarizes the rich history of the Šibenik diocese in one place and tells visitors the story of the special features of the construction of the Šibenik cathedral through art and interpretation elements.
