Geocache Description:

Hrvatski

English

Greetings to the Sun, the work of award-winning Zadar architect Nikola Bašić, is located on the western part of the waterfront next to the Sea Organ.

Greetings to the Sun consists of three hundred multi-layered glass panels placed at the level of the waterfront, in the form of a circle with a diameter of 22 meters. This unique urban installation absorbs sunlight during the day, and when the sun sets, the lighting elements built into the circle turn on, producing an extremely impressive play of light.

In addition to the Sun, the planets of the solar system are also displayed on the waterfront above the Sea Organ.

In the chrome ring that surrounds the panels with photovoltaic modules, the names of Zadar's saints are inscribed. Next to their names and the date of the holiday, the sun's declination north or south of the equator, the height of the sun in the meridian on that date, and the length of the day on that holiday are written, making the installation a kind of calendar.

Greetings to the Sun has become a tourist attraction and one of the city's symbols.
Visit it at night and indulge in the magical play of light with the sound of the Sea Organ in the background.

Your task is to photograph yourself at a location holding your geocache username written on a piece of paper. If you are shy, you can photograph your username, ofc written on something :)
