Musical Instrument Park☀️

Musical Instrument Park is a public park that opened on April 29, 2023, and it is located next to the Helsinki Music Centre. As the name suggests, the park features musical instruments that visitors can play. The park is also home to a 13-meter (42-foot) artwork by Finnish sculptor Reijo Hukkanen, Song Trees, a triptych consisting of a singing pike, grand piano lids, and firewood stacks. In the summer, the park is a popular picnic spot.

Your Tasks🎶

The logging requirement is to complete all three tasks listed below.

TASK 1 (find the answer): At the listed coordinates, you will find an instrument called Tubular Bells. This instrument has vertical metallic sound pipes and two mallets. By running a mallet along the pipes from left to right, you can hear a melody. A plaque on the wall provides more information in Finnish, Swedish, and English. Use the Message Center to send cache owner the answer to the following question: Who is the composer of the melody, and how many tones does the melody consist of? Find the composer's name from the plaque and determine the number of tones by counting the pipes that make a sound. Consider this task done after sending the answer; there is no need to wait for a reply. Do not post the answer in your log.

TASK 2 (take a photo #1): Visit one stone instrument of your choice (Waypoints 1-3) on the east side of the park and attach to your log a picture of yourself playing one of them. Alternatively, you can attach a picture of a personal item, such as your nametag, with one of the stone instruments visible in the background. Your face does not need to be shown in the picture. The stone instruments are made of black granite in Frasdorf, Bavaria, Germany. The 25-pad Stone Harp (Waypoint 1) weighs 600 kg (1,322 lbs) and has a single mallet for playing sounds. Each of the five bars in the Stone Xylophone (Waypoint 2) weighs 98 kg (216 lbs), making the total weight 490 kg (1,080 lbs). It has two mallets, so you can also play duets. You can experience sound with your ears and hands by making one of the three 440 kg (970 lbs) Tuning Stones (Waypoint 3) vibrate. Try lightly tapping the stone with a flat hand or rubbing it firmly from corner to center with water. When you get it right, the sound will be intense, but it will take some practice.

TASK 3 (take a photo #2): Visit one drum of your choice (Waypoints 4-7) in the elevated section on the west side of the park and attach to your log a picture of yourself playing one of them. Alternatively, you can attach a picture of a personal item, such as your nametag, with one of the drums visible in the background. Your face does not need to be shown in the picture. The labels on the drums display the drum type. Three West African Djembes (Waypoint 4), two medium-sized Cuban Congas (Waypoint 5), two large-sized Cuban Tumbadoras (Waypoint 6), and one sit-on Peruvian Cajón (Waypoint 7) invite you to explore your beat and rhythm. To make a bass tone, use the palms of your hands, and for an open tone, use the pads of your fingers.

Soitinpuisto☀️

Soitinpuisto avattiin 29. huhtikuuta 2023 Musiikkitalon viereen. Puiston soittimet ovat kaikkien käytettävissä. Puistosta löytyy soitinten lisäksi myös kuvanveistäjä Reijo Hukkasen 13 metriä korkea triptyykki nimeltään Laulupuut, joka koostuu laulavasta hauesta, flyygelin kansista ja halkopinoista. Kesäisin puiston nurmikolle voi vaikka levittää viltin ja nauttia musiikin ohella myös auringosta ja piknikistä.

Tehtävät🎶

Hyväksytty lokkaus vaatii kaikkien kolmen alla luetellun tehtävän suorittamista.

TEHTÄVÄ 1 (löydä vastaus): Annetuista koordinaateista löydät Putkikellot nimisen soittimen, joka koostuu metallisista putkista ja kahdesta malletista (eräänlainen nuija). Voit kuulla erään melodian kuljettamalla mallettia putkien päällä vasemmalta oikealle. Seinällä olevasta laatasta löydät lisätietoja suomeksi, ruotsiksi ja englanniksi. Lähetä kätkön omistajalle viestikeskuksen kautta vastaus seuraavaan kysymykseen: kuka sävelsi kyseisen melodian, ja kuinka monesta sävelestä melodia koostuu? Voit selvittää säveltäjän nimen seinässä olevasta laatasta ja sävelien määrän laskemalla soivien metalliputkien määrän. Tämä tehtävä on suoritettu, kun olet lähettänyt vastauksen. Vastausta viestiin ei tarvitse odottaa. Älä paljasta vastausta lokissasi.

TEHTÄVÄ 2 (ota kuva #1): Vieraile yhdellä valitsemallasi kivisoittimella (reittipisteet 1-3) puiston itäpuolella ja liitä lokiisi kuva, jossa soitat yhtä kivisoittimista. Vaihtoehtoisesti voit liittää kuvan henkilökohtaisesta esineestä, kuten nimikyltistäsi, siten että jokin kivisoittimista näkyy taustalla. Kasvojasi ei tarvitse näkyä kuvassa. Kivisoittimet on valmistettu mustasta graniitista Frasdorfissa, Baijerissa, Saksassa. 25-ääninen Kiviharppu (reittipiste 1) painaa 600 kg ja siinä on yksi malletti soittamiseen. Kivi-ksylofonin (reittipiste 2) viisi kieltä painavat kukin 98 kg, eli yhteensä 490 kg. Siinä on kaksi mallettia, joten soitin sopii myös kahdelle soittoniekalle yhtä aikaa soitettavaksi. Jos saat yhden kolmesta 440 kg painoisesta Sointipaadesta (reittipiste 3) värähtelemään voit tuntea äänen paitsi korvillasi niin myös käsilläsi. Kokeile taputtaa kiveä kevyesti kämmenellä tai hieroa kämmenillä märkää kiven yläpintaa rauhallisesti työntäen ja vetäen. Oikea tekniikka vaatii kärsivällistä harjoittelua, mutta onnistuessaan ääni on voimallinen.

TEHTÄVÄ 3 (ota kuva #2): Vieraile yhdellä valitsemallasi rummulla (reittipisteet 4-7) puiston länsipuolella ja liitä lokiisi kuva, jossa soitat yhtä rummuista. Vaihtoehtoisesti voit liittää kuvan henkilökohtaisesta esineestä, kuten nimikyltistäsi, siten että jokin rummuista näkyy taustalla. Kasvojasi ei tarvitse näkyä kuvassa. Löydät rummun nimen rummussa olevasta pienestä laatasta. Kolme länsiafrikkalaista Djembeä (reittipiste 4), kaksi keskikokoista kuubalaista Congaa (reittipiste 5), kaksi suurikokoista kuubalaista Tumbadoraa (reittipiste 6) ja yksi perulainen päällä istuttava Cajón (reittipiste 7) ovat käytettävänäsi kun etsit rytmiäsi. Matalan bassoäänen saamiseksi käytä kämmeniäsi kun taas kirkkaamman äänen saamiseksi käytä sormenpäitäsi.
